I am an Assistant Professor in Political Science and Quantitative Research Methods at University College London

My research focuses on the application of quantitative methods to questions of legislative and electoral politics, mostly in relation to the UK and the EU.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at University College London. My current research project, which is funded by the ESRC's "Future Research Leaders" programme, aims to expand the range of political concepts that can be measured through the statistical analysis of parliamentary debates. A description of the project was recently featured on the Times Higher Education website.

Previously I was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Methodology at the LSE, and I received my PhD from the LSE's Government Department in 2016. My PhD thesis explored the effects of legislative leaders on the behaviour of parliamentarians in the European Parliament and the UK House of Commons. A copy of the thesis can be found here.
